The instructions

The weekly reflection papers are your opportunity to further self-learning by processing the information you are learning about and demonstrating how you are applying it in your daily life.

This can be a discussion of your own experience of a particular principle or concept, or it can be based on your observations of someone else, a group, a situation, etc. It is also an opportunity for you to raise questions, concerns, disagreements, etc. with course materials that you may not want to raise in class, or that come to you later.

This assignment is about applying it to your life, whatever that means for you. This is your opportunity to deepen and personalize your understanding of emotional intelligence. Take advantage of it in a way that is most meaningful and helpful to you.

There is no need for you to do outside research for your journals, although you are welcome to do so if you want to deepen your understanding of a particular topic.

Pick a positive emotion and explore its personal meaning for you. Do you experience it with notable frequency? What do you think is the source of this emotion(s)? What triggers it? What works for you in terms of managing it? What doesn’t work?

The papers should be double-spaced, with 1-inch margins and 12 point Times Roman font. They should be footnoted with references to the exact number of pages in the assigned materials or any other materials you may wish to consult. Footnotes should be in Blue Book format.
